Tour to Road America for SCCA Championship Runoffs

Tour

About this event

The Sportscar Club of America ("SCCA") has local and regional races throughout the country all year.  At the end of the racing season, only the best amateur racers (regional winners) are invited to participate in the Championship Runoff races held at a venue that moves around the country.  This year, after being absent for a few years, the Championship Runoff races move back to Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.  The 57th SCCA National Championship Runoffs return to Road America at a time of year when the fall colors seem to dance around the beautiful race cars and the mild weather creates the perfect conditions for exceptional racing. The SCCA is one of the cornerstones of Road America’s history and has evolved into what is now commonly agreed to be the pinnacle of American motorsports. Since 1964, the SCCA has crowned National Champions through the winner-take-all, single race Runoffs format. Currently, the Runoffs crowns national champions across 28 separate classes.

The Runoff races make for great spectating.  The racing is usually super competitive and fun to watch.  Porsches will be competing in several classes.  Fortunately, for spectators, these races do not draw huge crowd, like Indy Car races, or IMSA races.  This is a good thing during this unusual time in which we currently find ourselves.  The vast size of Road America, 640 acres, allows ample space for distancing.  Once at the track, the PCA Tour-to-the Track will officially end and you will be free to wander the track on your own and check out the racing from myriad vantage points.  Tickets for the Saturday races can be purchased in advance online at: SCCA Runoffs - Road America.  But, if you prefer, tickets can also be purchased at the gate when you arrive at the track.  The ticket cost for this event is $25 per person.

Tour participants will meet at a Cedarburg, Wisconsin, location to start the drive to the track.  Details regarding the meeting place and time will be sent via email only to registered participants, several days prior to the tour date.

Limit: 20 cars
