Street survival class needs volunteers; register a student as well

The Milwaukee Region SCCA is inviting Porsche Club members to participate in the Milwaukee region SCCA Tire Rack Street Survival class on Sept. 18, 2021, at Milwaukee Area Technical College - Oak Creek campus.

Street Survival is a real world, hands-on driving safety class for teens.  Students learn in a combination of classroom, their own vehicle, and demonstrations with real tractor trailers, emergency vehicles and airbags.  In-car coaches encourage and guide students through behind-the-wheel exercises such as threshold braking, slalom, emergency lane changes and a wet skid pad.

We are looking for in-car coaches, tech inspection, course marshals, registration, and assistants for food and beverages and with COVID precautions.

Please note that in addition to taking precautions that you are probably accustomed to, the national Street Survival program is also requiring volunteers and students to be fully vaccinated.

To register to be a Volunteer please go to: (Use the Become A Coach link to become a certified Street Survival in-car coach.)

To register a Student for the class please go to: (Please note that you can register for $95 once the Wisconsin class appears on the web site.).

Thank you for considering helping with this program to teach our young drivers car control.  We cannot do it without volunteers, and we’re excited to be back.

This is not a PCA-affiliated event, but PCA events also follow the Tire Rack instructional regimen.  For additional information on the event, please contact Charlie Caliendo ( or Roy Carrera (, Milwaukee Region SCCA Tire Rack Street Survival Coordinators.
