Badlands tour for May 2021--save your spot soon

Hello region members. Here's something to look forward to in May 2021.

By Jim Lindenberg, tours chair

Hello PCA Milwaukee friends

This event is limited to 20 cars. As of late May, 12 of those spots are already taken.

A video of a Boxster Spyder driving some absolutely beautiful, scenic and curvy roads prompted me to search out the area to find out what roads they were on. Two hours later I was planning this tour detailed below.

This will be a six-day tour from May 15 to May 20—two days to get there, two days to enjoy the area and two days to get back to Wisconsin. The trip will feature scenic, twisty roads and fun activities. One road has nine switchbacks packed with scenic, twisty roads and three 360 degree turns in just 3.8-miles.Follow the yellow road -- 16A.

We will be driving through the Badlands and have lunch in Wall, S.D., with time to explore. We will stay in Custer, S.D., one of the most scenic cities in South Dakota. A stop at Mt. Rushmore will be a highlight and we will also travel to Devils Tower monument in northeastern Wyoming.

An optional trip for those wanting more fun roads will be a trip to Hot Springs, S.D., to visit the Mammoth site in Hot Springs, S.D., and have dinner at Woollys Grill in Hot Springs, S.D.

The tour will be limited to 20 cars. Space is limited.
